Leftist Manifesto

Posted in poetry, politics by jedyoong on April 7th, 2008

I like this one too from Teeny Poet.

This is just another leftist manifesto
Harvested from a Baltimore ghetto
Marketed from a hillside in Idaho
Its impossible for me to sit silently by while
People are held without benefit of trial;
Poor folks lose their homes as investment bankers smile
And a nation of millions sits there in dumb denial
Wondering who’ll win American freakin’ Idol

(Complacency- like a cancer, rotting our society!)

Suma olang sikalang tengok kita mia ekonomi,
Geleng kepala dan sakit hati,
Barangan harian itu dan ini,
Sumanye sudah naik manyak kali.

Majiam mana ini boleh jadi?
Majiam mana hidup kami?
Sape kisah? Sape peduli?
Duduk diam mengangis sindiri.

Child genius’s alternative lifestyle

Posted in morality myth by jedyoong on April 7th, 2008

The Star put the story of child prodigy Sufiah Yusof’s new life on page 3 today. You know what, it’s her life. Stop condemning or try to “save her”. I think as an adult she can make her own decisions.

Why doesn’t the paper expose the lifestyles of the UMNOputeras….I think that will sell more papers….After all, we need a proper tabloid ala News of The World in Malaysia. The Malay Mail isn’t quite as trashy as it was when Rocky was in-charge.

Nice poetry blog

A Beauty so profound that it surpasses
physical bounds and desires
except that of a fleeting embrace,
warming a heart’s core in a moment’s mockery.

Inspired by a post by KTemoc:

Hujan lebat, kampung dibanjir
Katak melompat, khinzir berenang
Rampas kuasa, mungkin difikir
Wakil khuatir, harta terhilang

Hujan lebat, sungai mengalir
Katak hijrah, khinzir berpindah
Impian rakyat, jangan disindir
Nanti undi, senang berubah

What is an Islamic state? Why do I fear it?

Posted in islam, religion by jedyoong on April 6th, 2008

A commenter asked me to write about “What exactly u have in mind when PAS says islamic state and what exactly make u afraid of it..”

Islam, as most non-Muslims know it from the international media, is seen as a cruel, medieval religion, and incompatible with modern life. Why?

Lorrain Esme Osman, who was at the center of the Bank Bumiputra scandal, appears to be a factor in the downfall of Bertie Ahern

The abrupt resignation in Dublin Wednesday of Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern over allegations of corruption in land planning in the 1990s brings back to the stage the name of Lorrain Esme Osman, the central figure in what 25 years ago was the world’s biggest banking scandal, the collapse of Bank Bumiputra Malaysia.

Lorrain now is the subject of an inquiry into a rezoning scheme worth £7.75 million over one of Ireland’s most storied pieces of property, the site of the Battle of the Boyne, fought between Protestants and Catholics in 1690 in a vain attempt, backed by the French, to restore the Catholic King James to the throne.

Ahern has been battling allegations for months that he secretly received massive amounts of cash from businessmen in the mid 1990s. He resigned suddenly after an Irish Times report that said a tribunal looking into his affairs was going over accounts controlled by himself, his daughters, a former girlfriend and his local political party office from 1988 through 1997. The accounts were said to total as much as 452,000 Irish pounds (US$897,845 in today’s dollars). He has denied the allegations.

No blogging till Sunday. :) God bless. Will try to moderate comments.

Try to read world news on BBC, etc. Or just Asian news. Then you get an idea of relativity and how trivial our charges of corruption and cronyism can be. :) Look at Thailand, Thaksin? My gosh! He is the HERO-lah. Burma — wow, the junta man. Singapore — Lee & Co Incorporated. Philippines — big problems after crash. Indonesia — still very poor and KL is definitely more beautiful. Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia? Erm, good for budget holidays? China and India, wow, dun play2 man corruption. Although you can be prosecuted esp India. I believe they shoot you in China. The UN? WOW, probably the mother of all corruption.  ;)

Anwar? What’s so hot? We have lots of talent in Msian politics. Just ‘cos they dun appear much in the MSM, it doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

Who swung the Malay vote — Dr M or Anwar?

Posted in brain exercise, politics by jedyoong on April 4th, 2008

It din really move in Lunas, Machap or Ijok. But it suddenly swung in the general election. Based on the TREND, what do you think? Was it the Mahathir or Anwar factor that shifted the votes? Or both? Or none — just issues?

PS. If you want to insult me, sure. It’s a free country. Just not on my blog. ;) Start your own and express yourself.

HA ha ha ha ha ha ha. What a morning! Ha ha ha ha ha. He is sarcastic too. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

He sounds worried:

Saya khuatir ketika kita sibuk berbincang soal kemelut dalaman parti, rakyat akan jemu dan kecewa dengan kita dan akhirnya kita kehilangan kuasa. Jika ini berlaku, semuanya tidak akan bermakna lagi!
