Anwar: UMNO stoking ‘flames of racial hatred’
Press Statement by Anwar Ibrahim (SAT - March 15, 200
:
I am therefore deeply concerned with the attempt being made by certain elements to stoke the flames of racial hatred in the aftermath of the March 8th Malaysian elections. We have reason to believe that this vicious campaign is being orchestrated by a small number of very wealthy Malays and UMNO leaders who are themselves guilty of squandering and abusing the NEP to enrich themselves and their cronies at the expense of the general public. These people are now using the UMNO and government controlled media to incite fears among the Malays and deflect attention away from their electoral defeat and from UMNO’s historic failures to address the needs of all Malaysians including the poor and marginalised Malays.
I ask my fellow Malaysians to reject the desperate attempts by some UMNO members to salvage the remnants of a broken party by pandering to people’s fears and sowing divisions and disunity among the people of our nation.
JY: Hmmmmm. Good statement. I thought he was overseas…..
Petaling Jaya, Malaysia - KeADILan’s Malaysian Economic Agenda is committed to the upliftment and betterment of the poor and marginalized Malays, Chinese and Indians, Ibans and Kadazans. We have always stated that under our leadership the interests of the Malays will be protected and we remain committed to building a new system that is more just, more equitable and that ensures no one is left behind irrespective of race or religion.
We plan to implement new mechanisms to channel economic aid to the vast numbers of petty traders and small businessmen in Malay communities and ensure that educational opportunities, microcredit financing schemes, social and welfare services and other forms of economic relief are made available to the Malays.
I believe all Malaysians including the Malays are pleased with the mandate that was given to KeADILan on March 8th and they look forward to a government that is more accountable, fights corruption and delivers on its promises to promote economic growth and reduce poverty in all segments of society.

We must remain united in support of a New Dawn for Malaysia.
ANWAR IBRAHIM

ui… so burning the midnite oil? So wat else is new?
am actually writing a post.
but have to research. do u have a blog? usually i sleep for four hours a day.
wat else is new? dunno-lah. nanti say i “stoking racial fire” ‘cos i write the truth. DAP, terima-lah realiti…LOL…
No lar Jed,even if i have one I’ll be too lazy to maintain n may experience a sudden death! heheeheheh. My gawd! 4 hours of sleep. Well, like babies, i need 8 hours daily, only tonite not sleepy ;-). I feel like barfing on reading words like “New economic agenda”, “committed to reform” repeated over n over again like a broken record. Like, DO IT man, just don’t talk. Give us the outline, educate us. Sorry to hear about yr “escapade” in Perak. Mentality has to change n it may take longer than it seems. Jed Yoong, the DAP’s “laling”…akakakakakk
No need to be sorry. Was quite disappointed that Penang was quite boring….As in no real interesting stories to write about. I wasn’t looking out for racial tension, you know. I was just looking for FOOD. So hungry. Ha ha ha ha. But observant lah. However, according to responses, I may have met UMNO types and many, many other blogs have very positive experiences. Wonder if they are believing their propaganda sometimes
Ha ha ha…Yeah, feeling a bit catty…
Yeah..the same old “Diide and Rule” strategy of the core BN Controllers who still think that they can play on the fears of “all stupid Malaysians” who still think out of their fears. Hey..half of the Malaysian voters have already woken up..they are using their brains instead of fear to think. Hallelujah to a new Malaysia.
Anwar at least say the right things, facts which the lapdog BN component parties never dared expressed all these decades. Facts which he is more well-placed to say loudly than even the DAP.
He`s also on the right track here. The NEP as done by the BN has created a confusion of racial superirority over rights:
The Malaysian Economic Agenda

In the BN states we`ll have the NEP, and in the Non-BN it`ll be the MEA and `never the twain shall meet`.
“desperate attempts by some UMNO members to salvage the remnants of a broken party”. Very true.
My Penang UMNO contact tells me their organisation is heavily demoralised right now.
Especially in the last 10 years, a lot of the people joined UMNO for the money. If the money stops flowing, the machine will start to eat itself.
Did you know most of the “protesters” at Penang Komtar on Friday were paid to turn up ?…Rent A Crowd…hehehehehehe.
I think Anwar Ibrahim may be working out some err…deals right now. He’s not waiting until the next General Elections to make his next move.
Its going to be a very interesting next 6-12 months. Keep your eyes and ears open, keep a good supply of Maggi mee at home….I’m not implying anything, but a cornered lion can sometimes do extremely dangerous things…
khabar angin umno losers going for another rally in penang this Thurs,
*not at Komtar - where else?
Anwar is an opportunist indeed. I felt sorry for those who are blinded by his antics.
we have our share of political roubles in africa. it’s always the old men and their cronies who have too much to loose if they get booted out of power.
our neighbours zimbawe point incase! all his cronies willbe tried for human rights abuses
